Lael is so excited to be joining Writopia Lab this fall! Lael is a writer, an educator, and a mom to two sweet baby boys. After getting her bachelor’s in Film, Television, and Theater at the University of Notre Dame, Lael spent many years doing stand-up comedy in Chicago. She is a freelance essayist and book lover and was recently published in the print magazine for book lovers Oh Reader. She is pursuing her Master of Education in Secondary English at Iona University.

Lael hopes to bring empathy, warmth, and a sense of humor to all of her workshops so that the writers she works with feel comfortable playing around and discovering their voice.
